OKEMO WELCOMES NEW RETAIL DIRECTOR

LUDLOW, Vt. – Okemo Mountain Resort is pleased to welcome Sean Meszkat as the Resort’s new director of retail. He assumes the role from former retail director Larry Abelman who recently retired after 25 years with Okemo.
Originally from Miller Place, N.Y., Meszkat has lived in Vermont for 15 years. He worked as a ski instructor at Bromley Mountain, managed the Dormy Grill at The Golf Club at Equinox, worked at The Startingate Ski Shop, in Bondville and, for the last four years, managed Equipe Sport at Stratton’s Village Square.

“I am excited to be here,” said Meszkat. “There is some great growth opportunity in retail at Okemo. Moving forward, I hope to make Okemo’s Snowsports Shops not just some of the best in Ludlow, but some of the most well-liked and respected in all of the snowsports industry.”

In his new role as director of retail, Meszkat will be responsible for Okemo’s Snowsports Shops located in the Clocktower Base Lodge and at Jackson Gore, as well as the Corner Store at Jackson Gore and other retail locations at the summit and at Solitude.

Meszkat resides in Londonderry with his wife Meghan and two sons Brody and Liam. In summer, they like to go sailing and camping at Lake George. In winter, they are a skiing family and love being in the outdoors.

Rising above the village of Ludlow, in south-central Vermont, Okemo Mountain Resort is a four-season playground that built its reputation for quality and superior guest service as a winter retreat for skiers and snowboarders. Originally a small community-run ski hill, Okemo began to blossom in 1982 under the ownership of Tim and Diane Mueller. Creating “The Okemo Difference” consistently earns the Resort accolades and awards for snow quality, grooming, terrain parks, family programs, slopeside lodging, resort dining and the best guest service in the East. In addition to an on-snow lineup of family fun, Okemo offers a variety of activities including ice skating, snowshoeing, tubing, a pool and fitness center, spa services, and family events and activities. Two 18-hole championship golf courses highlight the warm-weather offerings. The Resort’s Adventure Zone includes an all-season mountain coaster, zipline tours, miniature golf, disc golf, trampoline bungee jumping, a climbing wall, the Amp Energy Big Air Bag, Segway Personal Transport tours, and, debuting later this summer, a self-guided treetop challenge course. Okemo is the ideal hub from which to launch a New England adventure at any time of the year. Call 1-800-78 OKEMO or visit www.okemo.com.
