Is Your Child Ready for Mountain Explorers?

If you have a true beginner, let us recommend:

First Tracks helps you get the basics down the Okemo way, through personal, up-close instruction at a great value. With First Tracks you'll get a complete rental package, morning and afternoon beginner group lessons, and unlimited use of Okemo's lower mountain lifts. First Tracks takes place from 10 am to Noon & from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm.  This learning package is just $89 for juniors, ages 7-12; $99 for young adults, ages 13-18.

Double Tracks is a two-day program that builds on the skills learned in the first day of skiing or riding by getting students back out for a second straight day. It adds up to more instruction, more time on the slopes, and more opportunities to improve. Double Tracks takes place from 10 am to Noon & from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm on day one; and from 10 am to Noon on Day Two. This learning package is just $149 for juniors, ages 7-12; $179 for young adults, ages 13-18.

Kids' Glades

We've noticed that kids are naturally drawn to tree skiing. So we've developed glades for kids, working with the natural features of the mountain and its forests. The result is a tree skiing experience specifically for kids (adults may be too big). Just look for a Snowmonster at the entrance to each glade throughout the mountain to show your child the way.

Notes for All Parents

  • All children's programs have been structured by age according to the developmental abilities and needs of children. Please do not try to place your child in a program that is not designed for his/her age group.

  • In order to place your child in a group that will provide the appropriate challenge, please evaluate your child’s ability level realistically, according to the criteria of the individual program.

  • Children in group lessons may need to ride chairlifts with other members of the skiing public, Okemo staff, or by themselves.

  • Notify Okemo Ski & Ride School staff regarding any special needs including food allergies or dislikes, and any physical or medical considerations. This information should be detailed on the forms required at registration.

  • Warm, waterproof clothing, gloves or mittens, neck warmer, hat, and goggles are all essential equipment. On sunny days, sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended.

  • If a problem should arise with a student on the mountain, on-mountain communication systems will be used to alert you. For your convenience, we also have pagers available for rent at the Penguin Playground Day Care Center.

  • Please allow sufficient time at registration to complete all necessary paperwork.

  • Lessons and clinics may ski/ride terrain other than those indicated in the lesson/clinic descriptions. Terrain selection is at the discretion of the individual instructor based upon the ability level of the group, as well as trail and weather conditions of the day.

And the Okemo race programs were such a good fit that we signed them (our kids) up for that. We ended up getting Okemo season passes and spent every one of our ski days here this winter and we didn't regret any of them. It's great.
