After Camp Gokemo, families can spend time together building lasting memories. Evening activities are designed for the entire family ages 4 and up and are sure to include laughs, giggles and smiles.
Cool off after a hot day with a water balloon toss. Take a guided moonlit stroll through our nature trails. Tell stories or participate in a sing-along by a meadow campfire. Play flashlight tag after dark. Drop the kids off for a movie night. Challenge your knowledge of Vermont and Okemo trivia. Give glow in the dark volleyball a try. Let the kids try to win in kid vs grown-ups kickball.
Evening activities will occur every couple of hours from 4:30 pm until after dark; check the Jackson Gore Inn front desk for the week’s Activities Schedule. All activities will be lead by an enthusiastic and fun Okemo staff member, but parental supervision is required (exception: Kid’s Movie Night). Although, we’re pretty sure parents will want to join in the fun!
While all these activities take place right here at the resort and are appropriate for the whole family, you can also sign up for an excursion through Extreme Adventures Vermont, an independent guide and outfitter service.
While these excursions are not all "extreme", they do take place in uncontrolled natural environments. The trips involve physical exertion and exposure to the elements and some (not all) may be inappropriate for some people, including young children.

White Water Rafting: Deerfield River's Zoar Gap
Beginner - Min Age 8
Price Per Person: 4+ people, $90 pp midweek; $105 pp weekend
The class II and III rapids on our trip are ideal for beginner and intermediate rafters, and the unspoiled valley creates the perfect setting for wilderness adventure. Our 6-mile trip begins at Fife Brook Dam. Rapids such as Microwave, Freight Train, and Pinball allow crews to hone their skills in preparation for the raging whitewater of Zoar Gap. Price includes professionally guided raft trip, picnic-style lunch served by the river, and transportation from the place you are staying or an agreed upon meeting location.Rock Climbing Class
Beginner to Intermediate Climbers
Price $175 ppp; $150 pp for 2+ people, $125 pp for 3+
This is the first step in learning how to rock climb. You are never too young or too old to start climbing. This course teaches participants the fundamental skills needed to participate in top rope climbing. Students will learn how to tie into the climbing rope, how to belay another climber on top rope, how to properly anchor themselves while belaying, and basic climbing technique. Climbing safety will constantly be stressed during this course.

White Water Kayaking Instruction
$250 for one person; $150 for 2-4 people
You can also choose to learn the basics of white water kayaking. We teach you how to maneuver the boat in a lake or pond in the morning. Then in the afternoon we practice in some white water up to class 2. If you would like to learn more about the sport, we recommend that you come for more days.
