LADIES' LEAGUE SEASON FINALE
The Okemo Valley Golf Club Ladies' League season finale went off without a hitch July 28. A scramble format with double points on the line meant overall standings were up for grabs. Everyone played well and celebrated over a banquet afterward. Harriet Parot, Donna Tedford, Kay O'Hare and Sue Arndt, of Tom's Loft Tavern, finished first for the night with a 34. Marion Pickielnok, Mary Rita Batesole, Courtney McGuire and Lois Brown came in second with a 35. Betsy McKeever, Alice Thayne, Peg Cariddi and Kathy McMahon placed third with a 36. Nancy Timmerman won closest to the pin on #4 and Harriet Parot won on #8.
The League Championship went to the team of Betsy McKeever, Alice Thayne, Peg Cariddi and Kathy McMahon of Ludlow Insurance. Harriet Parot, Donna Tedford, Kay O'Hare, Sue Arndt of Tom's Loft Tavern came in second. Pam Cruickshank, Mary Knight, Doris Eddy and Kathy Grant of M&M Excavating finished third. Mary Lou Shaw, Lorraine Hughes, Linda West and Sue Bragg of NAPA Auto Parts came in fourth.

JULY 27 MEN'S LEAGUE
Three weeks remain in the chase for the Men's League Commissioner's Cup at Okemo Valley Golf Club. The race is the tightest it's ever been with only seven points separating the top five spots. Willie Dunn's won the top spot on July 27. Jack Collins, Paul Doyle, Bob Carboneau and John Goffinet combined to win 19.5 holes. Second place went to Stryhas Builders. Casey Stryhas, Bill Bruno, Bob Ahlers and Stu Schmidt combined to win 19.5 holes. First Line Security came in third. John Pick, Tom Fugiel, Larry Plumb and Jim Wallis combined to win 19 holes. Closest to the pin winners were Randy Nowak on the 4th hole and Jack Hurley on the 8th hole.

Marylou Shaw came closest to the pin on hole #4 and Maria Tomaselli did the same on hole #8. Marylou Shaw, Lorraine Hughes, Linda West and Sue Bragg of Napa Auto Parts finished in first place with 73. Maria Tomaselli, Donna Tedfrod, Kay O'Hare and Sue Arndt from Bovine Bookkeeping came in second with 74. Betsy McKeever, Alice Thayne, Peg Cariddi and Kathy McMahon of Ludlow Insurance placed third with 76.

Teams continue to move up and down the leader board in the competitive Men's League at Okemo Valley Golf Club. July 20 was no exception, as the recently hot team of M&M Excavating grabbed the top spot and moved up the board. Charlie Dickerman, Walt Spinrad, Mike O'Neil and Bruce Verdrager combined for 21.5 holes won. The evening's second spot went to Built Rite MFG. Mark Falango, John Taylor, Curtis Conover and Chuck Sweetman combined for 21 holes won. Rounding out the top three spots was Sanderson Contracting, Dave Higley, Bob Higgins, Ken Guy and Bob Herbst combined to win 19.5 holes. Closest to the pin winners were John Taylor on the 4th hole and Rod Roelants on the 8th hole.

On hole #6, Pam Cruickshank was closest to the pin with 8'8". Sue Horsman was closest on hole #4. Pam Cruickshank, Mary Knight, Doris Eddy and Kathy Grant of M&M Excavating finished first. On Thursday, July 15, blue skies greeted the Okemo Valley Golf Club members and their guests for the club's annual July Member Guest Tournament. Players experienced excellent playing conditions as Superintendent Rod Williams double cut and rolled the greens to add a bit of a challenge to the already challenging links. Mike O'Neil, Mike Courchaine, Steve Wilk and Pat Garvey won low net with a 55. 1st Gross went to Rick Marasa, Tim Kangas, Steve Birge and Rick Skrocki as they fired a 67. Second Gross went to Jack Collins, Bob Alger, Tom Owen and Dean Owen, who fired a 67. Second net went to Skip Clark, Rick Doyle, Ron Bixby and Mike Poalino, who shot a 58. Third Gross went to Dave Boggini, Dennis Clavet, Butch James and Reggie Cyr, who shot a 68. Third net went to Josh Rourke, Justin Savage, Tom Senecal and Jim Hebert, who shot a 59. Closest to the pin winners were Tom Senecal on the 17th hole and Mike O'Neil on the 8th hole. Long Drive winners were Ron Bixby on the 11th hole, and Joe Sheperd on the 18th hole.
JULY 5 MEN'S LEAGUE
The race for the Men's League Commissioner's Cup at Okemo Valley Golf Club continues to be a tight one, as only ten points separate the top six teams. On July 5, the gentlemen played a team-of-four scramble. First place went to Irving Oil. Mark Kattalia, Dan Petraska, Randy Nowak and Bob Snow shot an 8 under par 27. Second place went to The Loft. Matt Henshaw, Peter Modisette, Derek Karner and Ryan Mcguire also shot a 27, but missed the top spot on a match of cards. Finishing third was First Line Security. John Pick, Tom Fugiel, Larry Plumb and Jim Wallis shot a five under par 30. Closest to the pin winners were Peter Girouard on the 4th hole and John Pick on the 8th hole.

JUNE 28 VSWGA TOURNAMENT
On Monday, June 28, Okemo Valley Golf Club hosted a tournament celebrating the Vermont State Women's Golf Association's 80th Anniversary. Two teams from the New Hampshire Women's Golf Association attended to show their support and honor the working relationship that has existed through the years. In addition to the two N.H. teams, 64 women from Vermont competed in three flights of competition.

First Gross, Andrea Morrell (NHWGA) and Louise Billy (NHWGA), 72. First Net, Jeanne Morrissey (Williston) and Janet Hayden (Williston), 64. Second Net, Patty Haas (Killington) and Sherryl Libardoni (Brattleboro), 66.

First Gross, Harriet Parot (Okemo) and Liza Lloyd (Ralph Myhre), 83. First Net, Cynthia Borck (Stowe) and Nellie Gillander (Montpelier), 68 (Match of Cards). Second Net, Nancy Murphy (Proctor-Pittsford) and Margaret Rafter (Proctor-Pittsford), 68.

JUNE 24 LADIES' MEMBER/GUEST
On Thursday, June 24, Okemo Valley Golf Club hosted its annual Ladies' Member/Guest Tournament. Following a light breakfast, a shotgun start sent ladies to the links. On their first tee, golfers found complimentary SunDog Sunglasses waiting for them. An awards ceremony and delicious meal on Willie Dunn's patio followed play. The format was a team-of-four-best-ball gross and net. Winning First Gross was the team of Harriet Parot, Liza Lloyd, Peg Cariddi and Deidre Morris with a 75. Second Gross went to Marion Pick, Linda West, Maureen Quinn and Dayle Burditt with a 76. First Net was won by the team of Shirley McDonald, Peg Hackett, Florence Speth and Helen O'Brien with a 59. Second Net went to Mary Lou Shaw, Jacalyn Diesenhouse, Mary Knight and Jadie Detolla with a 59. Third Net went to Darlene Remy, Jane Witherwax, Winnie Dennis and Pam Harwood with a 60. Harriet Parot made the longest drive on the 18th hole. Deidre Morris won closest to the line on the 1st hole. Member Sue Arndt won closest to the pin for her approach that stopped 5' 10" from the pin on the 14th hole. Guest Jadie Detolla won closest to the pin on the 8th hole with her shot that made it 11' 7" from the hole.
JUNE 23 LADIES' LEAGUE
The ladies of Okemo Valley had great weather for their June 23 league play. The format was individual low net for the A and B players, and a scramble for C and D players. There were low scores all around and the season standings have started to tighten up. On hole #6, Janet Carini won closest to the pin, while, Darlene Remy hit it to 7' 10" to win on hole #8. Ellen Currie, Martha Damone, Ann Matulonis and Leanne Haskell of Id3 Designs came in first with a score of 55. Marylou Shaw, Lorraine Hughes, Linda West and Sue Bragg of NAPA Auto Parts finished second with 63. Darlene Remy, Janet Carini, Jeanette Conderino, and Roxy Davis of RVCCC placed third with 63.

JUNE 15 MEN'S LEAGUE RESULTS:
Five weeks into the Men's League and things are beginning to heat up in pursuit of the Commissioner's Cup. There is now a three-way tie for the top spot. The Willie Dunn's team made a move in the standings by grabbing the top spot on June 15. The team of Jack Collins, Paul Doyle, Bob Carboneau and John Goffinet combined for 20.5 holes won and victory in a match of cards. Second place went to Irving Oil. Mark Kattalia, Dan Petrask, Chris Perrino and Bob Snow combined for 20.5 holes won. Third place went to the Stryhas Builder.Ted Stryhas, Bill Bruno, Bob Ahlers and Tim Faulkner won a match of cards with a score of 20 holes won. Closest-to-the-pin winners were Paul Doyle on the 14th and Ron Bixby on the 17th hole.
