12/2/2012 LINE Tell A Friend Tour
Tell A Friend Tour is an east coast event happening in NY, VT, PA and CT. Athletes like Andy Parry, Ian Compton, and Jack Borland will be coming to a resort, and shop near you. Armed with the the LINE Traveling Circus van they will be skiing, handing out free stuff, and filming as they drive across the east. Swing by Totem Pole Ski Shop to meet the athletes before heading up on the hill to hit our early season park!
12/8/2012 Author Talk-Austin Burbank
Rutland Vermont author Austin Burbank will be talking about his Tinmouth Pond Series of books at 2pm on Saturday December 9th at the Fletcher Memorial Library at 88 Main Street in Ludlow, Vermont (enter rear of building). The three books tell the adventures of Little Clint who discovers the secret world under his beloved Tinmouth Pond, including a Timmy the magical dragon. Event is co-hosted by The Book Nook and Ludlow's Fletcher Memorial

Test out the latest in skis and snowboards from companies such as Nordica, Kastle, Ramp, Never Summer, and more! The best part? It's free to demo*! Registration will take place from 8am-1pm on the day of the event. Snowboarders- please note that you will be required to provide your own bindings. *A credit card imprint is required for security

Come Celebrate The Hobbit Before You See the New Movie! You are Cordially Invited to A Hobbit Party! Book Discussion, Costume contest, Trivia contest, Games & Prizes! Co-Hosted with Fletcher Memorial Library and Cavendish Fletcher Community Library Join the Librarians of Fletcher Memorial Library and Cavendish Fletcher Community Library and The Book Nook to discuss The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, take part in a trivia challenge, dress up for the costume contest, play games, eat hobbit foods, and possibly win prizes. Full details can be found at thebooknookvt.com. When skiers and snowboarders donate at least five non-perishable food items (or 100 packs of ramen), a new child's toy, or a new clothing item, they receive a coupon for a $39 lift ticket good that day.
12/15/2012 UPDATED: The Killarney What-I-Learned-This-Summer Rail Jam
UPDATE: ATTENTION SHREDDERS- THE RAIL JAM HAS BEEN MOVED TO JACKSON GORE. REGISTRATION WILL STILL TAKE PLACE AT THE MAIN BASE LODGE FROM 8-10AM WITH THE RAIL JAM TAKING PLACE AT THE JACKSON GORE COURTYARD AT 11AM! A rail jam competition open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages. Participants are encouraged to showcase the new tricks they learned over the summer. Registration is from 8-10am in the Clock Tower Base Lodge with the event starting at 11am at Jackson Gore.
12/16/2012 Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge
A fun, all-day event for the entire family! From a dual giant slalom race to prizes, giveaways, and an apres-ski awards party, this is a family party open to all that you won't want to miss. Race Registration opens at 8 a.m. at the Clocktower Base Lodge. Santa Claus makes a jolly and grand entrance at 4:30 p.m. in the Jackson Gore Courtyard for a final pre-Christmas visit before he makes his way back to the North Pole for holiday preparations.

Santa and his merry crew will be cruising the slopes on Christmas Day with a sack full of sweets for good little skiers and riders.

Ever wonder what made those tracks in the snow, or what animal is hibernating in that hole? Join us for a free presentation from the Nature Museum at Grafton on Animals in Winter at 6pm in the Cornerstone Room at Jackson Gore!

12/28/2012 Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Display
This spectacular pyrotechnics show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Okemo Clocktower Base area, following an amazing torchlight parade of skiers and riders traversing down the mountain. Kids, don't forget to sign up for the Kids Parade of Light by calling 802-228-1577.
12/29/2012 Shakin' Skate Presented by Snickers
Come out and enjoy a great evening of skating with a live DJ, games, and fun for the whole family! Presented by Snickers Admission is $10 for 12 and up, $8 for under 12 years old. Skate rentals are available fore $5 each.
12/30/2012 Vermont Institute of Natural Science Presentation
This presentation features an assortment of live animals for an informative and entertaining evening event for families. Raptor Encounter is a first-hand encounter with live falcons, hawks, and owls with a focus on the natural history, ecology, and adaptations of these efficient predators. Participants learn what adaptations make a bird a raptor. The Raptor Encounter is a great introduction to these specialized flying hunters. Touchable artifacts and hands-on materials round out this special experience. The program is free and open to the public. 7 p.m. in the Roundhouse at Jackson Gore.
12/30/2012 2012 End of Year Open
GS Race on Wardance. Open to U16, U14, U12 racers only. Must have USSA License. Signup Deadline is December 20, 2012. VARA Members receive preferred entry prior to the entry deadline. All entries received after Dec. 20 will be accepted in the order received up to 250 entries.
12/31/2012 Okemo's Family New Years Eve!
Midnight arrives early for friends and family while enjoying a whole host of activities. Following early evening ice skating, snowtubing, snowshoeing, mountain coaster rides(separate fees apply), horse-drawn wagon rides, cookie decorating, bingo games and a trivia tournament, families can ring in the New Year early with a DJ dance party - and still get the kids to bed in time for a full day on the slopes the next day. Party games, balloons, noisemakers and fireworks add to the New Year celebration, complete with a pizza party dinner in the Roundhouse at Jackson Gore from 5-9 p.m. Don't forget to get your ticket for the magic show!
